Family Network Manager Web-Based Application

This application is a powerful web-based platform for building, strengthening, and sustaining collaborative safeguarding networks with families

SgT Network Manager is a powerful web-based platform for building, strengthening, and sustaining collaborative safeguarding networks with families. It is a complete digital space which professionals, families, and network members can use to build the network with those families who need it; develop and strengthen safeguarding plans together; manage accountability; organize meetings; store documents; keep a journal; and sustain the network and safeguarding work over time. In addition to being powerful, SgT Network Manager is purpose-built to align with how safeguarding with networks should work. The platform was built in line with the core fundamentals of SgT: meaningful network building, helping/supporting rather than doing for others, shared responsibility, transparency, and the long-term sustainability of the work. However, SgT Network Manager is also flexible. It can easily exist alongside other methods of working, supporting frameworks, and organizational models.

SgT Network Manager was designed to empower professionals to strengthen their collaborative work without abandoning the methods already in use by their agencies. And, because it is web-based, it can work with other platforms. It can be integrated into the digital environments your organization already uses. That flexibility matters because SgT Network Manager was built for the real world. It was designed to work with organizations that need a practical tool that will flex to fit how you work, while also being robust enough to support real, meaningful, and high-quality safeguarding work.

Features of the SgT Network Manager Center include collaborative networking and the development, testing, monitoring, and refining of safeguarding plans. The platform is not simply a place to record what has been discussed in meetings or upload files. It’s a live workspace that professionals, families, and network members can use together to build, review, and strengthen safeguarding in a visible, practical way. Sharing the entire safeguarding process, SgT Network Manager allows everyone to see how the network is built (and by whom), what has been agreed upon, who is accountable for what action, and connect that directly back to the practical tasks needed to keep children safe and well supported.

The SgT Network Manager is a transparent and visible way of working in collaboration with families and networks. Instead of hiding the process behind lengthy documents or restricting access to information, SgT Network Manager places accountability at the forefront of the platform. By making the entire process visible to all parties, SgT Network Manager also supports long-term sustainability of the work by strengthening accountability and minimizing drift. It also encourages a more organized, disciplined approach to doing safeguarding with networks. Everyone can clearly see what needs to be done, by whom, and by when. Built for families and networks, SgT Network Manager was designed around the philosophy that families and networks should be active participants in their own network and safeguarding building journey. They should be able to shape their network by adding contacts, building on the plan by adding agreed-upon tasks, understanding what is expected of everyone, including themselves, and having a way to hold each other accountable for the tasks that will keep children safe. By bringing everyone together (professionals, families, and networks) in a shared digital space, the SgT Network Manager creates an environment which supports this theory of collaborative practice.

The SgT Network Manager continues to support the network and safeguard the plan's sustainability after closure. When the service or organization’s direct work with the family ends, SgT Network Manager can still be used by families and their networks. They can access their network, manage meetings, review the shared plan and update it if needed, update key contacts, retain important documents (safeguarding plan, etc.) in one secure location, keep a journal, and continue to build on the network and safeguarding begun with the service or agency. This matters because the true measure of sustainability is not whether we, as professionals, can keep a family safeguarded while they are directly involved. Although that is part of it, sustainment is determined by whether families and networks have what they need to continue the work on their own. They need structure, clarity, organization, and a shared commitment to see tasks through to completion. SgT Network Manager helps provide exactly that, allowing them to begin moving away from short-term intervention models of safeguarding and towards collaborative safeguarding practices that have the potential to last.
